It was nice getting some context for why I’m being asked to murder dozens of people, but at the end of the day the game is called Sniper and it gives me a long gun with slow-mo powers so I don’t need much other motivation beyond that. A forgettable prologue explains why it’s morally okay to assassinate each target for money. Contracts, in particular, is slow at times and the obligatory escapes can be a bit boring, but the long stretches of downtime are often punctuated by exhilarating explosions of gore that make it worthwhile.Ī mostly inconsequential story about oil companies, international espionage, and vague politics loosely connects 25 contract objectives across five enormous sandbox-style maps. It’s all about reveling in the careful, precise sniping that requires methodical movements and attention to detail. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is available via Steam. It’s time to do the objectives in Rashida Qalat. You can pick up the “Desert Dark” camo here, and you can defend the position until all the enemies are downed.Īll right, we’re done with these ordeals. It should lead you to one of the exfiltration points past the wooden bridge from earlier.Īlternatively, if you wish to kill as many hostiles as possible, you can still head to your right and make your way inside the small cavern. Go prone and crawl through the grass until you can loop around the small hill. Immediately turn around and head to your right. If you can eliminate three enemy waves, you’ll even complete another challenge.Īssuming you just want to get this part done, then the trick is to just blow up one barrel (you’ll get a checkpoint). Once you’ve unlocked a few, though, then you should be able to walk out alive. If you haven’t unlocked a lot of defensive gadgets yet (i.e., turrets or mines), then it’s going to be tough to survive. Not only that, but you’ll also need to contend with patrols that will arrive at the abandoned village.īasically, the more barrels go “kaboom,” the more you’ll get distracted as enemies pour in behind you. The problem is that one explosion is enough to put the base on high alert. Likewise, there’s a challenge that does require you to destroy all the barrels after sabotaging the contraptions. The objective won’t be completed until you destroy at least one explosive barrel. Note: If you use a silenced sniper rifle to disable the pumps and pipe controls, and if you didn’t blow up any of the explosive barrels, then the base won’t be alerted. Next, there are three water pipe controls shown as red contraptions (similar to the ones you saw at the dam in Mount Kuamar). If you blast the fuse boxes, soldiers will exit the building and you should have a clear line-of-sight. Some of these are being blocked by soldiers, so you might need to shimmy a bit to the side. To do that, you’ll need to shoot the control panels. First, the eight pumps themselves need to be disabled. At the cliffside edge, you’ll be able to see the oil fields. From your current spot (where you took out Hamza Khan and Zivko Dragovic), climb on top of some ledges until you can cross a wooden bridge. The oil fields are at the southern section of the map.
